Fifth blogoversary: Perseverance

Who knew five years could go so fast? Image courtesy of Foto-Rabe, Pixabay.

And this is the part where it gets tricky. I’ve hit my 5th blogging anniversary and my life’s been SO busy this past year, I’ve barely had time to breathe, let alone blog.

2016 was insane, but in a good way. It started in the spring when I entered a contest that required me to do a lot of walking. A LOT of walking. It took up a huge amount of my spare time.

Then I rested for about a month or so, and immediately afterward, plunged into the first college class I’d taken since I graduated college. Along the way, I acquired some new cousins (one of them is the smiley-est baby I’ve ever seen, can’t wait to meet him) and had a long-overdue reunion with some other relatives during the fall. At one point during the reunion, I heard an outcry and whipped around to see that my cousin’s boyfriend was just getting up from one knee and sliding an engagement ring onto my cousin’s hand. (Best. Party. Surprise. Ever.)

Time to read? Whazzat? I have come across some interesting books, which I’ll blog about soon. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with this gem of a video I found via Facebook. It starts out grimly, but please keep watching past the British girl in the striped shirt. You’ll understand after that. Happy 2017! (Video credit: Tobias Ellehammer, YouTube)

    Happy blogiversary!

  2. Congratulations on such a significant anniversary. To keep your focus together in this day of constant distractions to compose enough content to remain relevant for five years is an accomplishment in its own right. I see you have almost 1900 followers which is evidence you have content worth reading. Busyness plagues us all, sometimes robbing us of the quiet time we need to formulate good posts. I look forward to enjoying your posts in year 6!

  3. Congratulations. I hit my fifth anniversary next month, too. We’ve been running in tandem for the whole distance. I’ve missed you! I’m glad your life is going well. Drop by when you have a moment 🙂

  4. Just did my fifth as well. It zoomed by, didn’t it?

  5. It is a gem of a video! Happy 2017!
